Szczegóły dla: WAB - Regional Route D: Bad Schönau - Krumbach

Skrócony opis

Regional Route D is a pleasant hike through the cultivated landscapes of the Bucklige Welt. The Regional Routes are part of the network of paths making up the Viennese Alps (WAB) route. Hikes along these routes lead you to unique views and also insights. The Regional Routes are linked to the network of paths making up the Viennese Alps route. This results in circular hikes in conjunction with the long-distance path.

Opis

This section is varied, with ascents and descents, and always providing new views and insights in the heart of the Bucklige Welt. The highlight at the start of the tour is the spa garden in the centre of Bad Schönau. Afterwards there's the Triad, a stylish, rustic, award-winning restaurant. Two Gault Millau toques and three A la Carte stars make Uwe Machreich one of the top chefs in Austria. The highlight at the end of the hike is the historic market and town centre in Krumbach with the Museumsdorf complex. The Museumdorf (museum village) in Krumbach consists of five historic buildings: including an old farmhouse, a chapel, and the old public hospital. This open-air museum covers the history of Krumbach and portrays farming and religious life within the Bucklige Welt.

Opis drogi WAB - Regional Route D: Bad Schönau - Krumbach

Regional Route D starts outside the tourist information office in the spa town centre of Bad Schönau. The first few meters take us on the street alongside the spa building. The Viennese Alps route runs left past the spa building and through the park, however we take the Regional Route right of the spa and then turn right once again into Waldgasse. We follow the hiking and cycling route into the Zöbernbachtal valley, cross the Zöbernbach stream and then cross over the Bundesstraße at Ödenhof. We ascend via the paved road up to Gasthaus Triad (Triad Inn), where Veronika and Uwe Machreich offer creative, yet hearty cuisine to their guests.

After being fed and watered, we stick to the right at the next fork in the road, following the signs with the green Viennese Alps logo, past the golf range car park and continue into the cul-de-sac. Alternatively, it is possible to go straight ahead at the fork on the Teichrunde route, which meets the Regional Route once again in the forest. A sharp turn right, then we go straight along a meadow path that is marked out in orange. The path leads us into the forest, it then turns left and we follow the signs towards Krumbach on the right via a forest path. At this point we head uphill along a path marked out in orange that runs uphill along a wooded hillside, cross a rift and then turn right after a few minutes on the edge of the forest onto a meadow path. The meadow path continues with views of Krumbach Castle up to Gehöft Dirndlhof. We then carry on the adjoining Dirndlbauer track to Hof in Egg, where we turn left onto a road and follow the blue signs slightly downhill with views of Krumbach and the Rosenkranz Chapel. After a brief break at the chapel, the final stages of Regional Route D carry on down the road, which turns into a wider road at a hairpin bend. We keep left and continue to walk downhill towards Krumbach, and Tiefenbachstraße takes us to the centre. On the right-hand side we have views above the municipal office, the bus stop, and therefore also the end of Regional Route D in the Marktstraße. The Museumsdorf (museum village) is well worth visiting, and it is located somewhat south of the town centre following the B55. Alternatively, it is possible to extend the hiking route by adding Regional Route C from Rosenkranz Chapel to Kirchschlag. In Kirchschlag the main Viennese Alps route heads on to Bad Schönau. In Krumbach buses travel either to Edlitz-Grimmenstein railway station or back to Bad Schönau.

Dojazd

If you are coming from Vienna on the A2 travel as far as the Krumbach exit, then take the A55 to Krumbach and Bad Schönau. If you are coming from Graz carry on as far as the Aspang exit, continue on the L137 to Zöbern, head left towards Kampichl on the L137 and then change over to the B55 at Unterhaus, continuing to Bad Schönau.

Parkowanie

Car parking is available at the tourist office in Bad Schönau.

Take the train from Wiener Neustadt to Edlitz-Grimmenstein railway station and continue with the bus to Bad Schönau. Buses travel from Krumbach to Bad Schönau and back, as well as to Edlitz-Grimmenstein railway station.
