Hiking with a great view: The Hochkar hiking paradise can be comfortably conquered via the Hochkar cable car up to the pre-peak. The reliable 4-seater chairlift takes guests up to 1,770 metres above sea level. There, the fantastic view of the surrounding mountains all the way to the Großglockner awaits - and the most beautiful hiking routes for the whole family. Another highlight is the Hochkar 360° Skytour. By the way, the Hochkar has also been one of the "Best Austrian Mountain Railways" since 2018.

Hochkar 360° Skytour: Suspension bridge action & best views

Not far from the Hochkar mountain station is the 360° Skytour. The route leads, among other things, over a 60-metre suspension bridge, offers wonderful panoramic views over the entire Eastern Alps region and invites you to Lower Austria's highest vantage point: At the overhanging viewing platform, it is a dizzying 120 metres into the depths. The subsequent circular route continues over a bridge and a rocky path - with the best view of the Gesäuse and Dachstein.

• Idyllic mountain lake hike: From the upper Hochkar car park, walk for about half an hour along a forest road to the mountain lake.
• Easy summit rush: After the ride with the Hochkar cable car, a short hiking trail leads from the mountain station to the Hochkar summit (1,808 metres).
• Variable circular hikes: From the upper Hochkar car park, the Hochkar can be hiked in several variants - with different walking times of two to four hours.
