Such a family walk onto the Hochbärneck between Jessnitz and Erlauftal relaxes and does wonders. Therefore on this extensive Alm high above St. Anton there are three-marked hiking trails, each relaxing in its own way. Actually these are extensive Alpine walks on fixed routes with a great view onto the Ötscher, an interesting herb garden, a large observation tower and a cosy Almgasthaus (Alpine Inn). Powerfully towers the Mostviertler Altvater (mountain), south of the Hochbärneck and seen from the observation tower, showing its full broadside with its rugged Ridge, the Pfann and the three planes: Juckfidelplan, Kreuzplan und Fürstenplan. Thats what the Ötscher's ski slopes are called. In the hiking season a multifaceted Alpine life presents itself on the Hochbärneck, in winter, two T-bar lifts operate.
